Visit IMDB PageSurly, a curmudgeon, independent squirrel is banished from his park and forced to survive in the city. Lucky for him, he stumbles on the one thing that may be able to save his life, and the rest of park community, as they gear up for winter - Maury's Nut Store.
My role as a Senior Surfacing Artist was to surface and shade some of the more complicated assets on the film. It was a challenging role with the surfacing pipeline under constant development. A lot of the surfacing shaders were missing important paramaters and a few utilities had to be developed in order to get some of the shaders running properly(metal shaders). I helped the TD team by providing necessary parameters to be incorporated in the shader set in order to succesfully render some of the metal shaders etc...
A lot of interesting methods were incorporated to achieve maximum texturing detail including but not limited to using camera projections , multiple uv mapping techniques , uv offset methodologies , base occlusion map and normal /displacement map extraction from a highres modeled section of an asset etc...
